Editing the animatic

The whole point of the animatic was to give a rough idea of how our video would turn out to be. Our storyboard is what we used to create our animatic. The programme we used to create our animatic was 'Final Cut'. None of us in the group had used this programme before so we all had a go at  'playing around' and getting use to final cut. After doing so, it became clear that Vicky was the more suitable candidate to put together our animatic in Final Cut.

Before starting our editing of the animatic. We needed to have come up with ideas that would make our music video flow and to give it a sense of meaning. The way in which this was done was by using a 'Storyboard'. The use of this storyboard was for us to portray what we wanted to do in our actual video via the medium of drawing.

Emily's role was to take pictures of the individual storyboard images that were already drawn, whilst myself and Sophie's role was to edit these pictures in Photoshop to give the image its best possible look, by increasing its exposure, brightness nd various other factors.

The image above is an example of Vicky editing and creating our animatic in Final Cut. The first bar is designated for the images that are placed into Final Cut, whereas the bottom bar is for the audio is for our song which is 'Bloc Party- Flux'
